Getting Ready for Tomorrow

“Then Joshua told the people, “Purify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do great wonders among you.” (Joshua 3:5)

This verse became extremely important to a few years back when I sensed the Lord nudging me to turn off a certain television show that I was watching at 10:00 once a week. The show did little to promote godly values. I knew the show wasn’t godly but other people watched it and well, it really wasn’t hurting anything, at least I didn’t think so.

Allow me to share an excerpt from one of my favorite books, i am not but i know I AM by Louie Gigilo then I will tie it all together.

“And God said, “Let there be light, and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. God called the light day and darkness night. And there was evening and morning the first day….It was evening and morning, the first day. In other words night comes first, where darkness reigns, morning in the middle, and then daytime, which fades into night where a new day begins again. That seems a little odd to us, and maybe even backward, but it makes perfect sense in the economy of God…We go to sleep and God goes to work. And we wake up to see what God has done.”

God works will we rest. He is busy setting the stage for some amazing things we can see and do for His Kingdom’s cause

Each day wants to do great wonder through and among us.  When we continue to behave like the world (watch ungodly shows, go to ungodly places, and do ungodly things) we dim His light in us. We become desensitized to His work in us and spiritually blind to what He is doing around us.

Let’s pray in the morning. Let’s pray in the evening. Let’s get ready for tomorrow because the Lord will do great wonders around us. I for one don’t want to miss a thing.
