I Will Always Love You

What is love? Real love? I’m sitting trying to think of something new, refreshing, and inspirational to write about this beautiful four letter word. Sometimes old words are better than new words and when we shake the dust off the old words they are both refreshing and inspiring.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (NIV)

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails.

Love is very patient and kind, never jealous or envious, never boastful or proud, never haughty or selfish or rude. Love does not demand its own way. It is not irritable or touchy. It does not hold grudges and will hardly even notice when others do it wrong.  It is never glad about injustice, but rejoices whenever truth wins out.  If you love someone, you will be loyal to him no matter what the cost. You will always believe in him, always expect the best of him, and always stand your ground in defending him. All the special gifts and powers from God will someday come to an end, but love goes on forever. (TLB)

“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:35 (NIV)

Be refreshed. Be inspired. Love someone today. Love them even if they don’t look like you, act like you,  or believe what you believe. Love even if they don’t deserve it. Love because God told us to love.

  1. THANK YOU FOR YOUR LESSON ON LOVE IT WAS VERY HELPFUL. I HAVE FORGOT ALL ABOVE THE TRUE MEANING OF LOVE. THANKS AGAIN

  2. Thank you very much for your love blog. It’s about things we already know but need to be reminder of and refreshed from time to time. I’m a sports official and do my best to be a good one. Because of this I always have problems with other officials who do it strictly for the money. The ones who do it for the money don’t do anything to hone their skills and have a terrible dislike for those who do. They label us as “know it all.” It’s very hard to like these individuals let alone love them. But Jesus was PERFECT and people disliked and hated him, so who am I to complain and hold resentment for anyone else. Jesus even loved those who took him to the cross so I must love those who criticize and mock me. Thank you Jesus for setting the PERFECT EXAMPLE OF LOVE.

  3. Thank you for your word and a hard working to preach word of GOD may he bless u more and more…

  4. It’s so easy for me to love the people I already love! I think you know what I mean. It’s not even that difficult to love people I don’t know at all. Although I may not ever have occasion to talk to them or meet or interact with them; I can pray for mankind, the human race, and even say in my heart that I love all the people in the world.
I truly struggle with loving those people that I do know well, that I don’t even like. This is hard. These are the people who clash with me on some level or who have offended me in some way. I try to get my emotions out of my way to see these people as brethren. Some of these people attend the same church that I do – they are Christians.
I should know better. I have to keep praying and asking God to make me capable and obedient in loving them. Still a work in progress

  5. Hi Wendy,
I’m a big fan! Standing on the promises of the greatest love story ever!!!!.
    Big love!
    Lolly

  6. So nice to see your YouTube show up in my email. You helped me through dark times with your chronically bible videos years ago. I am still believing God for breakthrough in so many areas. Thank you for your continued teaching.

  7. I’m so late reading this post, but it is an on time Word! I have a manager at my job that I’m not a huge fan of and strongly dislike working with, but I’m praying about it and trying to not gossip. I can’t change the fact that she’s my manager, but I can change my attitude toward her and be less defensive and just let go of my pride and just take it. I just don’t like managers that are always on you about something and also make you feel dumb when you ask questions to the point wherw you don’t even ask anymore because it’ll embarrass or frustrate you. It’s also an awesome reminder of God’s character since God is love, it tells of everything He is and what we are striving to do. GBU Wendy!
